Tribal Frog!

Alright, so this week our task was to create a Anthropomorphic (dare you to say that fast three times!) creature based on an exotic frog. Also, there has to be a theme with your design.

Mood board:

So I decided to go with a tribal theme with my frog.
Reason? Forest + tribal = tribal frog.

 Sketch:

Outline:

Base colours:

Finish:

So the idea behind this guy is he's a tribal warrior. While not the highest rank in his tribe, the black with blue tipped feathers show he is strong and can hold himself in a fight.

Conclusion:

I'm pretty happy with the end result! It came out more or less how I imagined it.
One thing I realised while colouring it was that I could use some practise on how to shade different types of materials. Shading in cloth is much different to shading metal or leather.

Using value to create form

Last week we learnt how to use values to create form in an object.
This is what we did.

H/w
Our homework was to draw a tank and use what we learnt in class on it.

Tentacle Creature

Alright, this week it's Hentai... wait what?
*Double checks brief*
Oh, my bad! It's Tentacle week! *coughstillcountsashentaicough*

Mood Board:

Initial Designs:

Final Design:

So, the idea with this guy is that he's an experimentation gone horribly wrong!
(Though, that would depend on the persons point of view...)
His face is badly disfigured and blinded, hence the wraps around his head.
The symbol on his chest shows he is 'Experiment 4'. What happened to the ones before him? Somethings are better left forgotten...

Conclusion:

This was a fun task (though, not so fun researching for references. There some things in the internet that no one should ever see. *shivers*)
A few things I need to work on, and that's muscles and cloths shading.

Attack of the killer zombie!!!

Classwork:

It's Zombie time! Last Visual design class we were tasked with editing the texture sheet below to make the woman look like a Zombie!

PS: I HATE ZOMBIES!!!!!!!

Lava Creatrue

This time, our task was to create a rocky, lava creature!

Mood Board:

While researching, I found that most rocky, lava tend to be big, tank-like creatures. This got me thinking if I should go down the same route or try something different.

Initial designs:

As always, first initial designs are just random drawings to get a feel of the theme and style I want to go with. Also, it lets me see what possible ideas could work.

While I was sketching, I was playing Final Fantasy 14 when I summoned this little creature.

I stared at it for while, then realised that I could use a similar design for the lava creature.

This was the initial sketch that came from that idea. I loved it so I used it for the final design.

Final Design:
The final idea with this creature is that it runs on lava (lava creature duh!) which also has the ability to float. The smaller stones around the arms are floating and spinning in a slow motion.

Conclusion:

End result, half-and-half. Liked where the idea was going but didn't really get there :P More practise I guess.

Futuristic weapon

Mood Board:

When looking for images for a mood board I find a wide variate of images (I ended up finding about 100 images!) and from those I pick ones that really poke at my imagination. It could be the shape of the weapon, the colour scheme or certain bits of it.

Initial designs:

These are the first sketches that I did. This was just me trying to find a theme and style that I wanted the gun to go with. In the first image you can see I was trying to go with a laser beam type concept but it wasn't really working out.
Final Sketch:
Final sketch design and I went with the idea that the weapon was fueled by energy that is reloaded from each side of the weapon (giving it a high capacity)

Finished:

The final product is a mass produced weapon for a military company. The metal plate on the side is for the solider to put their name and I.D. number.

Conclusion:

Had a lot of fun with this theme and weapon! Was very pleased with the outcome of it.

Walking simulator - The World's End

The game I came up with for my walking simulator is called 'The World's End'. It is a Post-apocalytic world that it on the brink of destruction by demons.

This was the first initial map layout. It was decided to go with the one below as the one above was to simple and should be more maze like to give the player more interactions.

Grey box:

Created the layout of the Lab in Maya then imported it to Unity.

23/10/15

Had people test out my level. Mostly got comments about how they didn't understand what was going on in the level until I explained the backstory to them. This could be because I've only done the layout of the room. I haven't added any models into it. This leads onto the next problem the most people had which was that they got lost very easily as the rooms look all the same.

27/10 - 24/11

Past month I've been working on the models that will be in the level and learning about coding.

PS: Just looking at the coding is giving me a headache >:(

Battle Arena

This is the grey box of my Sci-fi battle arena with mood board.

The grey boxing is simple but it gives the rough idea of what I'm going for and where I want things placed. From here I'll work on the proper models, for instance the platforms which spectators will stand/sit will not be stairs like shown on the grey box, but it indicates that that is where the platforms will be.

Character Silhouettes

Alright, so this is my first time at drawing characters using the silhouettes technique. Was harder then I first thought and not overly happy with the results, but it's just gonna take practise to make it better.
