Battle Arena update

Statue

So, for our battle arena we had to create a statue that will be in it. In my case I will have a statue of a player. The statue will represent every player and that any player can become a champion.

Moodboard:

As my battle arena is of a Sci-fi theme, the players are as well so I looked for battle suits that fit that theme. I also wanted a slick style of suit but with some padding as while the player will be running more then fighting, there is still some form of violence.

Whale Boy Speedpainting

This lesson we did a speedpaint of a whale boy character and some light practise.

Bug creature - part 1

So the task this week was to create a bug creature!

Wanted to go with a fantasy theme with this creature.

Rough:
I drew out the creature naked to get an idea of how all of its body looks like and to also see what kind of armour/clothing could work with it.

In the end I went with armour for it (has shown in the blue outlines)

Finished:
The final product was a foot solider for a bug tribe. With this done I can now done the final piece in part 2!

Life drawing 11

Bit of perspective drawing this week (shown more clearly on the second image)

Life drawing 10

The model was standing in a massive grid, which we had to draw so that everything was accurate.
I spend more time drawing the bloody grid then the actual model!

Life drawing 9

Did something different with the 3 minute drawings. The model was moving around in a circle so I thought 'Eh, why not do the same!'.

Life drawing 8

Last week of life drawing and the model is clothed! (Though, this is only because someone complained about it...)
Was nice to get some practise with drawing wrinkles on clothing.

Life drawing 7

Experimenting with different medias and the last image was done with other people.

Life drawing 6

This week we drew the model with both hands at the same time.
Can honestly say I'm not ambidextrous and most likely never will be. Made the model look like a harpy in the second image and a human cactus in the third.

Life drawing 5

Switching between different medias and a bit of skeleton study at the end.

Life drawing 4

Did some shading this week with a little hand study.

Life drawing 3

Bit of hand swap this week. I'm heavily right-handed, which is shown in the image below, so using my left hand was odd and very uncomfortable.

Life drawing 2

This week the model was sitting and had a robe on the chair. A lot of wrinkles to draw :P
